Components of Civil Aircraft
Civil aircraft are made up of a number of essential parts that provide safe and effective flying. The fuselage is the aircraft's body; the wings provide lift; the engines generate thrust; the landing gear supports the aircraft during takeoff, landing, and while on the ground; the cockpit is where pilots control the aircraft; the tail section provides stability; the fuel system stores and supplies fuel to the engines; the electrical system powers various instruments and systems; and the avionics consists of electronic systems for navigation and communication. Every one of these parts is essential to the aircraft's overall operation and safety.
